1. EKOPOD, CORNWALL

SET in a former pub garden in the heart of the Alde Valley, this family-run retreat is the place to go for green glamping.

UNLEASH your inner Native American at this wigwam village, set on a farm on the beautiful Northumbrian coast.

GET a taste of traditional gypsy life when you stay in a bowtop wagon at Bouncers Farm in Maldon.
The two wagons, on the edge of a cherry and apple orchard, are rented out together and each sleep two people.

HEAD to West Moss-side organic farm, in a secluded corner of Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve, for a break in one of its three luxury yurts.
Each traditional Mongolian yurt sleeps up to five people on comfy futons.

7. ECO RETREAT, POWYS
THIS camp bags the prize for the most peaceful escape - it is hidden away at the end of a four-mile track on a 1,300-acre organic farm in the Dyfi Forest.

PERCHED on a hillside above the River Spey, in the 200-acre Inshriach private estate, you'll find this wonderfully grand yurt- for-two.
It boasts an original Victorian brass bed, shelves of china, a woodburning stove, an old mahogany writing table and its own garden with iron furniture and a barbecue. The bathroom is in an outhouse ten minutes walk away.
